While the world is singing and professing holiday cheer

Your only focus is to have your loved one here

Yuletide carol being sung by the choir

Heartache and grief are what the holidays seem to inspire

Christmas trees, decorations, and presents of the past

Are realized through life that has gone away too fast

It’s the “most wonderful time of the year” is what you're supposed to believe

But all the while praying for the season to leave

You're supposed to be happy because of the happy holiday season

But you struggle through pain to try to find a good reason

It’s the holidays indeed that can truly amplify the loss

Turning inward and feeling lonely is typically the cause

Give yourself grace and take your time in order to heal

The holidays can be a very difficult time to deal
